Just got my player today and I want to briefly what I saw today, this DVD player to
Pro
1) quality of the sound great, especially for music. My home theater system (Marantz ZR6001 and speakers Connoiseurs energy) back to life. This Panny also hit my high-end Denon DVD player sound quality. LOVE IT !!!!!!
2) the image quality for Great Blu-ray movie playback.
3) The remote user friednly.
4) the load times faster, not as others have claimed.

I use the LG BD-390 for DVD, but I find that the other functions are still widely used.
The streaming video and music from a PC media server via the BD-390. The BD-390 includes software Nero MediaHome 4, which is sufficient, but not great. I use TVersity ([...]), free media server software that will do a better job of Nero.
I also stream movies, etc., from Netflix via the BD-390 with excellent results. And YouTube videos seem to be better with the BD-390.

Overall, this is a solid Blu-ray with the addition nifty streaming content from Netflix, YouTube, Pandora and Blockbuster. I've all but used blockbusters and they all worked well.

Sony claims to be able to play multiple formats (mkv most interestingly). I bought this device after learning it had DLNA support.
