Currently on a mission to find the ideal Blu-ray for my needs.
After the recent upgrade from my old Sony CRT TV to an HDTV 55'Samsung LED, wanted complete package of robust pleyer Blu Ray wanted someone who would be able to stream Netflix movies in addition to being a Blu-ray player. The interface is via a wifi USB dongle and then connect to the Internet was low, even with the router is less than three meters away. Samsung updates for servers are painfully slow, and the update has taken more than two hours. So they do not play longer, and returned in a week for Best Buy.
Assuming that the system built-in WiFi in LG BD-390 will be better, I decided to give it a shot. And the first machine that I received from Amazon do not work very well and in an update of the entire system froze and I had to send it back to Amazon. I received a replacement machine t

| Review by Rod E. Reichardt (Austin, TX) 2010-07-28 Pros: Beautiful Blu-Ray with quick start. Easy to set up. WiFi works great. Lots of internet media options. Netflix streams in HD. The menus are simple and easy to navigate. Cons: Seems a little touchy about the router you use. Had I not had to chase an X-Box live issue I may not have solved a Netflix issue so quickly. Sum... I use it with Sony 52 inch EX700 Edge-lit LED TV with 2-3 year old Linksys 802.11G Wi-Fi router. Consumer Report in March 2010 issue rated this 92 on 100 and is #3 on their li... | Review by R. Dangel (needham, ma) 2010-07-27 If you are buying this device to do anything OTHER than play Bluray, look elsewhere. Sony claims to be able to play multiple formats (mkv most interestingly). I bought this device after learning it had DLNA support. To date, even after applying several firmware updates, DLNA does not work AT ALL. I can see my various DLNA media servers, an... Read more reviews | ||

| Review by Andrew Martin (Pittsburgh, PA United States) 2010-07-10 The player arrived and I set it up according to the manual's instructions. It worked fine for a few months. I never moved the player or did anything other than insert and remove discs. It suddenly stopped working. It turns on but reads "system error." I have never had something breakdown like this (less than a year). I paid a premium price be... Read more reviews | ||

| Review by Chris Fonner (Page, AZ United States) 2010-07-09 I recently purchased a Samsung BD-C5500 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player...I loved the feature set and design but unfortunately it wouldn't play most of my SD DVD's and it had an image and sound quality issue (Yes I downloaded all the updates). Amazon let me return the Samsung and I purchased the Sony BDP-S370 instead. I don't care for the design as muc... Read more reviews | ||
